Assistance in emotional crises and recurring relationship issues
Are you not feeling well?
We are specialized in providing support with relationship issues, such as in the context of dating, dysfunctional relationship patterns, decision-making, and coping with break ups.
Unlike psychotherapy covered by statutory health insurance, we offer flexible help, also in acute situations. You can get started soon, even if you don’t have a mental illness or if you have a “minor” concern. What could this look like in more detail? You can find information about our services and costs here.
Please note that Soulmates is not covered by statutory health insurance. Our services are available for self-pay clients and private insurance holders. Being a self-pay client can have certain advantages in terms of insurance and career, as your data will not be shared with health insurance companies or doctors. You can learn more about this in this article.
nice to have you here!
I’m Tina Steckling, a licensed practioner of psychotherapy and the founder of Soulmates – psychological support. For us, psychological support means providing assistance that is flexibly tailored to your needs. We don’t focus on a specific illness or diagnosis; instead, we see you, your story and current situation.
Unlike traditional psychotherapy covered by statutory health insurance, the concept of psychological support is designed to offer flexible help that meets your needs in the actual situation. This may involve addressing an immediate conflict or particular topic, such as processing a breakup or learning to say “no.”
During our sessions, we use therapeutic and coaching methods. This means we may go with a resource- and solution-oriented approach to help you cope with a difficult situation or delve deeper, using schema therapy or trauma therapy methods when addressing long-standing problems or processing distressing or traumatic experiences.
Appointments can be scheduled flexibly, even multiple times per week or at larger intervals. A session lasts not just 50, but 60 minutes.
If you are seeking support, at Soulmates, I, Tina Steckling, am here for you primarily, along with my Soulmates colleague Marta Susak and other colleagues who share the Soulmates concept.
If you would like an initial consultation in person in Berlin-Neukölln or online, it’s best to schedule an appointment directly here in the online calendar.
Then psychotherapy might be the right approach for you. In psychotherapy, we focus on your emotional and behavioral patterns, as well as your inner aspects. We explore the connection between your current problems, your personal history, and the structures you find yourself in. From there, we support you in resolving obstacles and developing hte ability to take good care of your self.
Here you can find our available services.
In coaching, we use therapeutic and coaching methods which possibly support you in reaching your personal goals. The main difference between coaching and therapy lies in their focus: coaching is aimed at mentally healthy individuals with a desire for personal growth and development, while therapy involves the treatment of a disorder with clinical significance.
For example, if your goal is to develop more self-confidence and clarity, that would be a coaching concern. However, if you are experiencing symptoms such as anxiety, depressed mood, or sleep difficulties, it would fall more into the realm of therapy. The boundaries between coaching and therapy can sometimes be fluid, and we are happy to provide guidance during the initial consultation.
In couples counseling/therapy, we support relationships of any form or constellation. We provide guidance to help you overcome relationship patterns that make you unhappy. We create a safe space where you can openly communicate, develop a deeper understanding of your own behavior and feelings, as well as those of your partner. You can express your wishes and needs, negotiate fair compromises, and restore emotional closeness.
In schema therapy, it is possible and part of the method to involve the partner in ongoing individual therapy if it seems helpfil. Individual sessions during ongoing couples therapy can also be beneficial at times. However, this is not mandatory and we will discuss and decide together.
If your concern revolves around a specific issue or you have a question related to a current, concrete stressor, psychological counseling might be the right choice for you.
In counseling, we primarily focus on structured support and solution-oriented approaches in the “here and now.”
Counseling tends to provide more knowledge transfer and guidance.
You’re not feeling well, but you’re unsure of what you need and whether Soulmates support may the right fit for you? We offer a quick initial consultation where we dive right into your concerns, allowing new perspectives and approaches to emerge. Additionally, your situation will be professionally assessed, and we will present how our collaborative journey could look like.
With the initial consultation, you have the opportunity to get to know us at a slightly discounted hourly rate compared to regular individual sessions. Afterward, you can take your time to decide if you want to continue.

After the initial consultation, you can choose to schedule individual sessions flexibly or commit to multiple sessions in advance. While not necessary, it can be beneficial both in terms of content and cost-effectiveness.

In 10 sessions, we will focus on identifying the patterns and inner conflicts that are holding you back and explore what you need to stay connected with yourself. Through specific exercises, we can gain new perspectives and experiences, and practice new behaviors. The emphasis will be on recognizing your needs and taking good care of yourself. Between sessions, if needed, I will be available for brief email or text message support.

Additionally, I am available for brief contacts via email or phone between sessions, if needed.

Private or supplementary insured individuals may be able to receive full or partial reimbursement for the costs of psychotherapy under the Heilpraktiker Law, depending on their insurance policy. It is important for you to clarify this with your insurance provider beforehand.
Being a self-payer is particularly beneficial if you plan to take out private health, life, or disability insurance, or if you aspire to a civil service appointment. More information about this can be found here.
We are generally available from Tuesday to Friday, between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Marta currently also offers appointments on Saturdays.
Since it is difficult for us to fill a canceled appointment at short notice, we kindly request that you cancel appointments that have been firmly scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in the full cost being charged. Further details can be found in the terms and conditions (AGB).
The agreed amount is to be transferred in advance or paid in cash at the appointments. Upon request, you will receive a separate invoice. Payment by installment can be arranged with us on an individual basis.
Psychotherapy under the Heilpraktiker Law is exempt from value-added tax (VAT) in accordance with §4, Paragraph 14 UStG. Coaching services are also exempt from VAT in accordance with §19 UStG.
As responsible providers, we would like to inform you, in accordance with the German Advertising of Medicinal Products Act, that no promises of healing are made. …my offer to you is to create a safe space and hold it for you. I am here for you when your previous coping strategies are no longer working or when the burden becomes too heavy.
In that case, we will look at your situation, identify what brings you relief and may strengthen you in the present moment and explore ways for you to reconnect with yourself. From there, a sense of security can develop, and you may be able to make good decisions. I provide you with tangible support, offering guidance and sharing my expertise and experience. I don’t just say “hm…” and “aha,” but I also consult with you after you have had the space to express and feel understood.
Specifically, this means that I may ask you questions during our conversation or we may engage in exercises such as guided imagery or chair work. In the latter, different aspects of your personality are represented by different chairs. It may initially seem unusual, but it can greatly help in gaining a better understanding of your internal conflicts and motivations, allowing you to make different choices and take different actions as a result.
Occasionally, my Dachshund Ernie is present during sessions, if that is fine for you. However, if you prefer otherwise, that is not a problem, too.
My approach is integrative, primarily drawing on methods from Schema Therapy. In addition, depending on the situation, I incorporate stabilizing, resource-oriented, solution-focused techniques, as well as exercises from Trauma Therapy, which have proven to be highly effective in many cases. I also utilize creative techniques.
I regularly pursue further education in Schema Therapy, including training with Dr. Eckhard Roediger/IST-F, and I participate in Schema Therapy supervision with Werner Puschmann/IST-B in Berlin. I have completed specialized training in Schema Therapy with Couples, as well as creative methods in Schema Therapy with Couples.
Furthermore, I am currently undergoing training in Psychodynamic Imaginative Trauma Therapy (PITT) with Luise Reddemann.
